Mini PC manufacturers are becoming increasingly inventive to meet the growing demand for compact yet powerful computing solutions. Consumers and businesses alike are demanding more space-efficient devices without sacrificing performance, and manufacturers are pushing the boundaries of design and functionality.
Geekom makes some of our favorite mini devices like the AX8 Pro, and their latest product, the Mini Air12 Lite, is another great addition to their portfolio. As you might guess from the name, this is a smaller, cheaper version of Geekom’s Mini Air12.
Powered by 12th Gen Intel Alder Lake N100 processors, up to 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and up to 1 TB of M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3 x4 SSD storage. You can pre-order it with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD for $199 on the Geekom US site (down from the regular MSRP of $249). Scheduled to ship in October.
Abundant ports
The Mini Air12 Lite offers a decent array of ports. On the back, you’ll find two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and an RJ45 Ethernet port, as well as DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 outputs that support dual-monitor setups. Wireless connectivity is provided via WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.
The front panel features two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and separate 3.5mm jacks for microphone and headphones. Digital audio via HDMI and DP is also an option.
Mini Air12 Lite features a 9-pin expansion header on the front. This provides pins for connecting external components and additional functionality, such as a 5V DC power pin, power switch pin, and pins for power and HDD activity LEDs. The device already has a power button and built-in power LED, so we’re guessing the idea is to give users more customization options and configure these pins for additional controls and indicators. , you will have to wait until it is released. I know for sure.
