Kody Brown from Sister Wives isn’t the best father to some of his kids, and his parenting style remains unconventional. After marrying his first wife, Meri Brown, in 1990, he entered into a polygamous relationship. He added Janelle Brown to his family in 1993, Christine Brown in 1994, and Robyn Brown in 2010. Kody and Janelle had their first child, Logan Taylor, in 1994, and Christine and Meri had Aspin and Leon the following year. Over time, Kody welcomed 12 more children and also adopted three of Robin’s children from his previous marriage.
In the beginning, Kody lovingly cared for all of his children and did his best to help his first three wives raise their 13 children. Unfortunately, after marrying Robin, his attitude changed. Kody became overly attached and focused on her, neglecting his responsibilities to his other three wives. This led to arguments with Meri, Christine, and Janelle on separate occasions, and strained relationships with his eldest children, including Paydon and Gwendolyn Brown. Ultimately, Kody’s actions caused the family to fall apart, with all of his wives except Robin leaving him between 2021 and 2023.

Kody also doesn’t make much of an effort to show consideration for his son. Kody made Paydon despise him by abusing his mother Christine. The feud between the two escalated when Kody, as the head of the Brown family, imposed strict rules and restrictions on the entire family during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kody also had difficult relationships with some of his daughters. However, many did not expect that he would fall out with Mykelti Brown, with whom he once had a strong bond.
Recently, Kody hurt Mykelti Brown by allowing her adopted daughter, Aurora Alice, to get her ears pierced before she turned 18. Mykelti said she was upset about the situation because Cody wouldn’t let her do the same. She said he never went to get his daughters’ ears pierced. Kody also had a feud with Mykelti when he supported his mother Christine during her divorce.

In recent years, Kody has shown favoritism to Robyn’s children, buying them expensive Christmas presents, but not showing the same love for her other children. Kody doesn’t support many of his children, including Leon. He showed selfishness by choosing not to attend Isabel’s surgery during the pandemic. According to Janelle (via TLC), Kody’s biggest problem parenting is his inability to form relationships with his older children. She previously said the Sister Wives star is much better at being a father to younger children.
