I’m Coming to Dinner by Scott Stalberg
It’s hard to find the love of your life at 10 years old, but Scott found it when he got his first camera at that age. Then, at the age of 13, things changed dramatically when his father built a darkroom in the basement of their home. From an early age, he would watch his images come to life in darkrooms, under safelights, smelling chemicals and listening to music.
He used Photoshop from the beginning, but it was spending hours in the darkroom that got him hooked on photography. He agrees with Einstein’s quote that “Imagination is more important than knowledge” and says that his photographs make imagination a reality.
Scott has taught photography at many schools in the United States, including UCLA Extension, where he was awarded Photography and Photoshop Instructor of the Year. He also leads photography workshops in the United States and around the world. His coffee table book Passages to Burma chronicles his travels to his favorite country on earth since 2001.
His images are used all over the world on greeting cards, calendars, puzzles, magazine covers, book covers, and billboards. They are held in countless collections ranging from top five-star resorts to major hospitals and department stores to famous galleries, and are even on permanent display at the United Nations. Scott lives with his wife in the picturesque town of Sedona, Arizona.
