Jin represents financial institutions, development banks, and project developers in the development, construction, financing, acquisition, and sale of energy and infrastructure assets, with a focus on renewable technologies. We also regularly engage with clients in connection with early development activities, drafting and negotiating key transaction agreements, and structuring complex commercial transactions utilizing a variety of tax credit financing structures.

Represented a major development company in the transfer of tax credits from an operating portfolio of wind and solar energy assets located throughout North America. Represented a major financial institution as a tax equity investor in multiple distributed generation financings, including a portfolio of commercial and residential solar power and battery storage systems. Represented a private equity firm in connection with the acquisition of a controlling interest in two separate portfolios of operating wind and solar power assets. Represented project developers and financial institutions in various transactions involving the acquisition, development, and financing of utility-scale wind, solar, and geothermal projects throughout North America.
Upon graduating from law school in 2013, Jin joined Hunton Andrews Cruz’s Energy and Infrastructure practice. As an associate, he actively participated in the firm’s pro bono program and was selected to represent the firm as a Pathfinder on the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
He then joined Electricity France (EDF) Renewable Energy Distribution Solutions as a Senior Advisor and in 2020 was hired by another leading international law firm. Jin earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey School of Law.
Mr. Jin returns to the company as it continues to expand its global energy business. This includes the recent addition of energy and infrastructure partner Christian Bradshaw in Tokyo. In September, the firm welcomed energy project finance partners Aisha Waheed and Seifi Khan Khandemir to London.
