Every October, Miller Hill Subaru partners with local animal shelters to help find loving homes for animals. This year we hosted Animal Allies, Babinski Foundation, Lake County Humane Society, and Chequamegon Humane Society.
“We participate in the annual Miller Hill Pet Adoption Event. This is our fifth year participating. In terms of animal adoption, this is one of our “It’s one of the best events of the year. The turnout is huge. The first few hours are pretty crazy. And most of the animals are adopted within the first hour or hour and a half.” said Donna Sutton, Executive Director.
With many shelters overflowing with stray and surrendered animals, the success of Miller Hills Subaru’s event allows shelters to help more pets in need.

“So this means more space for local shelters. And we know that shelters have waiting lists. Right now, stray dogs, there’s a huge call to surrender. So this gives us more space to bring in more cats and dogs and keep them safe,” Sutton said.
Additionally, if your local shelter has room, you will have the opportunity to help local animals as well as those impacted by Hurricane Helen and other storm evacuations.
“They’re always reaching out to the southern states. We go out there and try to help the southern states that are in situations like this. But unfortunately, due to animal capacity, We couldn’t do that. So this event will help us free up space for 16 more dogs and even more space for cats,” Sutton said.
Over 80 dogs and cats were able to find loving homes through the weekend’s events.
