Eight months after Charles III revealed to the world that he was battling cancer, new details have emerged about the major lifestyle changes he began following his cancer diagnosis.
As royal fans may know, the 75-year-old monarch has eaten healthy food throughout her life, but had a tendency to skip midday meals. Anonymous sources cited by the Daily Mail said he considered lunch a “luxury” that he could not afford due to his busy schedule.

That habit seems to have changed now. A British tabloid reported on Saturday, October 5, that the king had recently started eating “snacks” during the day at the urging of Queen Camilla and his medical team. The lifestyle change was made “with some resistance,” the source said.
“Right now, he eats half an avocado to get through the day,” she explained, adding that for people facing serious health battles like the king, getting nourishment during that time is “a great way to get through the day.” “Important,” he added.
The superfood midday snack is a bright spot for the monarch after a turbulent year as he and his daughter-in-law, Duchess Kate, both battle cancer. Buckingham Palace said in early February that medical experts had “identified a type of cancer” when King Charles was undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate. Palace officials declined to say what type of cancer the king was battling, but noted that an enlarged prostate was a “separate concern”. Treatment started on February 5th.
Less than two months later, Prince William’s wife revealed her battle with cancer in a video update shared on social media. The Princess of Wales did not reveal the type of cancer she had, but revealed in early September that she had already completed chemotherapy and was committed to staying “cancer-free.”
