As airline ticket prices continue to soar, travel industry experts are urging people to take advantage of various reward programs as much as possible.
Travel rewards site Points.me has compiled a list of what it calls the most consumer-friendly airline rewards programs.
The list of at least 10 reward programs includes low-cost carriers like Spirit and international carriers like Air Canada.
Air Canada stands out at number one on the list, with United close behind at number two.

This ranking list is designed for frequent flyers as well as frequent buyers. These are people who use their cards to purchase other products besides air travel in order to earn reward points.
“If you have a credit card that allows you to earn so-called transferable currencies, you can convert those currencies into airline miles,” said Gilbert Ott, director of partnerships at Points.me.
His organization uses search to help customers decide which benefits to use and when.
“What we like about these different programs, I think United, for example, is that you can pool your mileage, so even if everyone in your family has some points, , if you don’t have enough points for that, you can actually pool your points and take advantage of things you didn’t know how to do on your own if you’re flying for one person.
