The city of Burbank is Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting Excellence from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023 marks the 40th consecutive year that the City has received a special award from GFOA.
“The City of Burbank’s long-standing recognition from public finance industry experts demonstrates the city’s commitment to the highest principles of government accounting, including accurate and transparent financial reporting. It’s a testament to the hard work of our entire department,” Mayor Nick Schultz said.
“This is a proud moment for our team,” said Jennifer Becker, director of financial services for the city of Burbank. “Receiving this recognition from the Association of Government Financial Officers is a testament to our dedication to achieving the highest possible standards in financial reporting. Thank you for your support.”
ACFR has been determined by an impartial panel to meet the program’s high standards. This includes clearly telling the financial story and demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to motivate potential users and user groups to read ACFR.
