Kerrville Pets Live! Volunteers work every day to facilitate the rescue and adoption of dogs and cats housed at Kerr County Animal Services.
Karen Guerriero, president of Kerrville Pets Alive!, said KCAS has been inundated with abandoned puppies in Kerr County this year.
KCAS receives calls from citizens reporting illegal dumping. Some of these animals were beaten to death.
“This is not a pet issue in Kerr County, this is a people issue,” Guerriero said. “We are currently seeking foster homes for eight puppies that were abandoned at Center Point. If you are interested in fostering one or more of these puppies, please call our foster coordinator at 210-710-4978. Or text or email joey2@hctc.net.
KPA! will be holding a dog adoption event on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 2102 Memorial Blvd. Adoption fees range from $35 to $125 and include spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchip.
KPA! Residents are asked to call KCAS at 830-257-3100 if they see an abandoned or injured animal. If you need to rehome your pet, please contact KCAS or KPA. Call 830-200-0539.
