Computers were supposed to be personal, customizable, and cool. In this cold modern society, we sometimes forget that. But the cyberdeck scene is full of people building creative and original computers that suit their tastes, aesthetics, and needs. (DIY Tinkerer) is one of them, and he put his woodworking skills to good use when building his own cyberdeck.
The technical fundamentals are the same as you are used to in this field. This build is based on the Raspberry Pi 4, and the (DIY Tinkerer) chose the 8 GB model to suit his needs. It is paired with a 9000 mAh onboard battery, has a power jack on the front, and runs on DC 5-20 volts. For ease of use, multiple memory card readers and multiple USB 3 ports are available.
The rest of the video focuses on the woodworking aspects. (DIY Tinkerer) shows how they built a new housing from a sturdy plastic case that’s also practical. The final product is functional, attractive, and includes an oscilloscope. It’s also a huge evolution from his previous builds.
We’ve seen a tremendous amount of cyberdeck construction over the years.
