According to the latest Financial Advisor League table by GlobalData, Citi and Jefferies are the leading mergers and acquisitions (M&A) financial advisors in the oil and gas sector in Q1 and Q3 2024 in terms of value and volume. rose to the top.

Aurojyoti Bose, Principal Analyst at GlobalData, said: “Both Citi and Jefferies each had a lower 2024 advisory rate compared to 2023 Q1-3. “We recorded an improvement in the number and value of transactions, as well as in our rankings. “Meanwhile, Citi occupied 8th place in terms of value from Q1 to Q3 of 2023, but moved to the top in this metric from Q1 to Q3 of 2024.
“From the first quarter of 2024 to the third quarter of 2024, Citi advised on $6 billion in transactions, including two mega-deals exceeding $10 billion. As a result of our involvement in the transaction, Citi was able to record a significant increase in value.”
Citi was followed in the value category by JPMorgan, which advised on deals totaling $48.9 billion, followed closely by Goldman Sachs with $39.7 billion.
Jefferies and Evercore also made the top five list by value, advising on deals worth $39.5 billion and $38.3 billion, respectively.
Evercore followed Jefferies in volume with 15, followed by RBC Capital Markets with 12, Barclays with 10 and Lazard with nine.
