Huda Beauty is synonymous with glamour, and I’ve been a fan and avid collector of the brand’s eyeshadow palettes for years. As part of the new era, the company released several new products that became viral hits and became staples in my daily routine, including the Easy Blur Foundation and auxFilter Color Corrector. But as Huda Beauty undergoes a makeover that includes a new logo and the return of Huda Kattan as CEO, some iconic products, such as the 18-piece eyeshadow palette, are being phased out.
Huda Beauty’s new Icy Nude collection includes the Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette ($69), a cool-toned nude and neutral color story, and the brand’s final 18-pan eyeshadow palette. The collection also comes with two shades of the new Blush Filter Liquid Blush ($21) and three shades of the new FauxFiller Lip Gloss ($19), all of which I got to try.
Ahead, you can see how the Icy Nude collection looks on my tanned skin and read my thoughts on the new palette.

What I love about the Huda Beauty Icy Nude collection
Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette: I have a neutral undertone, so most nude eyeshadow palettes can be a little too warm and orangey for my liking. The Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette has shades that flatter a wide range of skin tones and is especially great for those with cool skin tones. I love that it brings out the cool undertones of my skin without looking washed out. Honestly, this is my dream all-purpose nude palette. Not only do we have a range of velvety mattes that blend beautifully into each other and compliment my skin tone, but we also have a range of unique metallic and shimmer shades that are fun, festive and truly enchanting.
As you can see in the photo above, I was able to create six unique looks using just this palette. For a true nude eye look (top left), I used First Class as a base, used Ampologetic in the crease and outer corner of the eye, and lined the top and bottom lash lines with faux fur. To create the shimmering gold look (above center), I applied Gold Standard all over the lid, applied faux fur to the crease and outer corners, and used Sea Reichi as a feathered liner.
I wanted to experiment and try an icy pink look (top right) using Aurora as an all-over eyelid shade, and to highlight the inner corner of the eye, I used Avalanche as a base and used icy Finished with out. I also added just iced out as a highlight for the outer corners of the eyes. For a more silver-toned look (bottom left), I applied Oneself as a platinum base all over the eyelid, smoked it in the shade Poized in the crease, and used She Riiich as a winged liner. For a bolder, more glamorous look, I added Bling (bottom center) as a glitter topper.
I wanted to try out the two triochrome shades (bottom right), so I used Poized as my base shade. I applied the more champagne-toned shade “VVS” to my left eye, and the more silver-based toned shade “Diamond Dew” to my right eye. I smoked out both eyes with Poised to add depth and added first class to the brow bone.
Icy Nude Blush Filter: Having tanned skin, I often use bronzer or brown-toned blush to add warmth to my skin while giving it a sculptural look. The Icy Nude collection’s blush filters do just that. The shade Latte (see right image above) is a warm chocolate brown shade that compliments my skin tone beautifully and gives me a natural look. The shade Coco Loco (see left image above) is a neutral dark brown shade that gives the skin a bold, sculptural look. Check out our detailed review of Blush Filter Liquid Blush to learn more about its formulation and feel.
Icy Nude Faux Filler Lip Gloss: The original shade of faux filler lip gloss provides a deeply hydrating feel with a high-shine finish and pigmented feel. Icy Nude Lip Gloss gives the same result, but instead has a shimmery sheen, which I like for a more glamorous look. These glosses don’t have chunky glitter, but they do have an iridescent shimmer that adds a subtle duochrome effect to the lips, making them perfect as lip toppers.
My favorite shade is She Fire (see left image above), which is a chocolate brown with pink gold flecks. She Flirty (center image above) is a lovely baby pink with silver flecks that pairs well with a nude lip. The She Glitzy shade (see right image above) is an iridescent pearl shade with a pinkish-purple duochrome effect with silver flecks. This is my go-to shade as a lip topper because it melts into a clear, dynamic glow. For more information on moisturizing feel, check out our detailed review of Fake Filler Lip Gloss Review.
How to use Huda Beauty Icy Nude collection
Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette: I love applying and blending the velvety matte shades with an eyeshadow brush to create a smooth gradient and smoked-out look. But when it comes to the seven shimmering shades, I prefer to wear them bright and bold, using my fingers to apply the shadows to my eyelids. To accentuate the duochrome effect, I like to press the shade down and gently drag it across the lid. To accentuate the glitter and sparkle detail, I dab the shade onto my eyelids rather than blending it out to create a shimmery look.
Icy Nude Blush Filters: These blush shades are different from traditional pink-toned blushes for a more bronzer-like look. If you want a more sculptural and bronzed effect, you can wear it alone or pair it with a blush shade to bring warmth and pink undertones to your skin. My favorite combination is two dots of latte under three dots of watermelon for perfectly sculpted rosy cheeks.
Icy Nude Faux Filler Lip Gloss: The shade She Glitzy is best used as a lip topper to add a shimmery, high-shine finish to your lip combo. The shades She Flirty and She Fire are pigmented enough to be worn alone or with lip liner or lipstick.
Things to consider before trying the Huda Beauty Icy Nude collection
Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette: This 18-pan palette includes a wide range of tones suitable for neutral, olive, or cool undertones. You can use this palette if you have warm undertones, but some of the shades may look a little washed out. However, using a brighter base, such as an under-eye concealer or white cream shadow, can help neutralize your eyelids and reveal your true color.
Icy Nude Blush Filter: The shade Coco Loco is very pigmented compared to other blush filter shades known for being smudge-resistant and beginner-friendly. When using this particular shade, it’s best to start with one or two dots and build up the color as needed.
Icy Nude Faux Filler Lip Gloss: On my tanned skin, I prefer to use the She Glitzy shade in combination with another lip color so that it doesn’t look washed out due to the pearl tones. The She Flirty shade also looks washed out when worn alone.
