E!: Is there a song that always gets you excited on game day?
KW: I’m a country girl at heart. So in my case it’s “Man!” I feel like a woman! ” Written by Shania Twain. I try to play it at least once before the game starts, no matter who listens to it on the locker room speakers.
E!: The DCC training camp makeover is iconic. Do you have any regrets about your pre-training beauty routine that you wish you could do again?
KW: I had very blonde hair in college. I don’t regret it, but it was definitely not my color. About five months before I auditioned for DCC, I decided to dye my hair from light blonde to dark brown. Thanks to you, it all ended successfully!
E!: DCC boots are a legendary part of the uniform. Do you have any hacks to reduce discomfort during matches?
KW: Everyone has a different routine for protecting their feet on game day. I had a trainer wrap my ankles for more support on the grass. Wear two pairs of socks (one regular sock and one fluffy sock) over it.
To be honest, if you stand for 4-5 hours, nothing you do will completely relieve the pain. But they are so beautiful that any discomfort is worth it. I just have to prioritize recovery after the game.
