Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Manu agreed, saying that while the food can get heated around the dinner table, he’s there for one job: to judge the food. Ta.
“We’re there to judge the food, so we can only judge what’s on the plate, but it’s a competition and there’s a lot of different personalities around the table, so we certainly , things can get heated sometimes,” he said.
“MKR is very much a pressure cooker environment, and contestants who have never cooked at an instant restaurant may find themselves sitting around a table thinking it’s easier, no matter how many times they’ve cooked before. Even if you’ve ever cooked before, a team that cooks under this kind of stress and time limit might think they should have gotten a better score from the other contestants, or that there’s a lot of strategy involved. They may be very different people who should never sit at the dinner table together.”
