It’s the little details that make the most memorable rooms stand out, and 2024 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas designer Trish Sheets’ living room is no exception. When the designers received an elegant back corner room overlooking a grand terrace, they began imagining a stylish sanctuary for the ladies of the house to entertain their closest friends. From there, she introduced unique accessories from B.Viz, Wolf Hall Antiques, and fashion-forward products like Gracie’s wallpaper in watercolor-like fabrics from Kravet and Altuzarra’s new collaboration and custom window treatments from The Shade Store. I started curating design elements.
“We wanted to mix traditional with a little bit of modernity to make it feel like a perfect match and have a lot of fun in this space,” says Sheets. “I envisioned a lounge for friends to play games and hang out together.”
Titled “Salon du Champagne,” the space features a nifty seating plan (back-to-back (think sofa) are available. From the indoor bar. A quirky fireplace decorated with Casci Ornamental Plaster and beautiful antique rugs from Arsin Rug Gallery keep the space always cheerful and inviting.

“I’m being true to myself with this design and expressing what I love with the attention to detail,” says Sheets. “I’ve added a little bit of white here for a bit of glamor, but there should always be antiques or something black in every space.”
Although the showhouse will be built on an accelerated schedule, from concept to completion in just 10 weeks, Sheets commissioned work from local artist John Holt Smith and trim from Samuel & Sons. It didn’t interfere with our bespoke vision for the space until we added it. Anything she can do. The result is an unabashedly feminine space that is unforgettable and always evokes celebration.
