Christopher Meloni has the best advice for parents of children entering young adulthood.
Meloni, 63, attended the 2024 DGA Honors held at the Directors Guild Theater in New York City on October 17th, and said, “I want all the credit to go to my wives, but I don’t want to give credit to them.” I’m very involved,” he exclusively told Us Weekly. Enough space to make our mistakes and keep moving forward. ”
The “Law & Order: Organized Crime” star said both of his children are “finding their way” in the world.
“Now they’re in their 20s, the youngest is 20, and I think he’s figured it out a little bit,” the actor told Us. “They are on the right path and are doing a great job.”
Meloni and his wife Doris Sherman Williams, whom he has been married to since 1995, are parents to a 23-year-old daughter, Sofia Eva Pietra Meloni, and a 20-year-old son, Dante Amadeo Meloni.

Meloni has spoken at length about his children over the years, even admitting in a 2014 interview that his children would call him “crazy.”
“I’m very physical, I’m very affectionate. I’m very disciplined and I also focus on education. That’s one of the things that was instilled in me, where I have no compromises in life. “It’s one of those things,” he told USA Today at the time. “I want them to get involved in athletics and the arts because it’s a place where they can express themselves.”
The actor also stated that “empowering” his children is a big part of their upbringing.
“I remember when I was a kid I didn’t have any powers,” he added. “Power helps children grow, but power requires children to think critically. They feel engaged in decisions and thereby feel included in the family process.”
Meloni and Williams, 64, officially became empty nesters last year when they dropped off Dante at college.
