Curfew is from 10pm to 6am daily
Interior Minister Henry Quartey has imposed a curfew by the executive branch in Sampa township in Jaman North area of Bono region.
The curfew is from 10pm to 6am every day and will be in effect from Thursday, October 24, 2024, until further notice, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior.
The minister imposed the curfew on the recommendation of the Bono Community Safety Council following a leadership dispute in the area.
In a statement, the government called on local leaders, opinion leaders, youth and residents to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges they face and to use non-violent means to vent their grievances to ensure peace in the region.
Meanwhile, in Sampa township in Jaman North district of Bono region, there is a total ban on carrying arms, ammunition and all other offensive weapons. The ministry said anyone found in possession of weapons or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
