Jeremy Clarkson says doctors told him to cut back on work after undergoing heart surgery.
The 64-year-old revealed earlier this month that he had two stents fitted to improve blood flow to his heart after his health “suddenly deteriorated”.
Writing in The Sun on Friday, Clarkson said he didn’t think the surgery was scary, but “what scares me is what comes after – the advice about how I should live my life from now on.” he said.
The former Top Gear presenter said he was “no longer allowed to enjoy himself” and that doctors had told him he “had to quit” “many” jobs. Clarkson said doctors suggested replacing it with golf.
“If I didn’t work, I’d be sitting at home rotting all day,” he said, adding, “The worst problem is eating.”
“To lower your incredibly high cholesterol levels, you need to completely cut out all your favorite foods,” Clarkson says.
“Bacon, sausage, beef, lamb, pork, butter, crisps, proper milk, Cadbury fruit and nut bars, and interesting pieces in eggs.
“It’s been a week since we started living under the new system, and it’s really scary.”
The host of “The Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” said he would “keep working” but change his eating habits, adding that his lifestyle “will not cause me to live to be 112”. I added that I understand.
After the surgery, Clarkson wrote that she “strongly wants to live a little longer” and wants to see “her grandchildren grow up.”

Last week, the presenter wrote in the Sunday Times that he felt “a clammy feeling”, “a tightness in my chest” and “a tingling sensation in my left arm” while on holiday.
Ms Clarkson said she sought medical attention after hearing about Alex Salmond’s sudden death and was then taken by ambulance to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
He said doctors had ruled out a heart attack but believed he had “a few more days” of serious illness.
The star’s last Grand Tour episode aired in September, but he continues to air Amazon Prime’s Clarkson’s Farm and ITV’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
He also recently opened a pub called The Farmer’s Dog near his home in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.
