Creamy white walls have always been the norm, but people are becoming bolder and more confident with color. Whether it’s a subtle look with muted tones that skew neutrals, or a true statement maker with bold, vibrant hues, one thing’s for sure: color is in it! is. Here are six paint color trends predicted to be everywhere in 2025.
bolder and braver blues
No matter what end of the spectrum we’re on, blue in some form will always fascinate us, but in 2025 it’s going to be bolder than ever. While we love soft hues, it’s time to embrace the bold energy of color.
From hotels and restaurants to home interiors, vibrant, saturated blue is popping up everywhere, and it’s been named Valspar’s 2025 Color of the Year. This side of blue is energetic and fun, especially when used with a lacquered finish. Bold blues make their mark not only on the walls, but also scattered in corners and vignettes to create unique moments within a space. This also applies to trim and cabinetry. Sherwin-Williams’ 2025 color mix forecast also includes cobalt Frank Blue (SW-6967).

Red evokes drama
There’s red in it! And we’re not just talking about soft reds that distort pink (which are also on the rise), but true ruby reds that really catch your eye. Whether used throughout a room or as a small accent, a pop of red is known to inspire confidence and infuse a room with an inviting, mysterious, and energetic vibe.
The surprising red theory is not new or complex, but it has certainly received more attention recently. It’s a concept where a captivating hint of color really ties everything together. It’s like a cherry blossom placed on top of a well-designed space or a red lipstick that makes an outfit pop.
Whether saturated or muted, rusty brown or terracotta, often polarizing colors can bring life to even the smallest of spaces. Behr’s 2025 Color of the Year proves why red is becoming popular again in interiors. Sherwin-Williams also named three reds in its 2025 color mix forecast: Borscht (SW-7578), Rookwood Red (SW-2802), and Red Tomato (SW-6607).

Neutrals infused with color
Out with white and beige! Try adding some color to even neutral spaces. From what we call the “new neutrals” of light blues and greens, to soft pinks and peaches that add a calming atmosphere, and even more subdued tones like earthy browns, there’s a hue to suit any room. Even Benjamin Moore’s 2025 Color of the Year, Cinnamon Slate 2113-40, has a velvety brown undertone while offering hints of purple.

Green that changes your mood
In recent years, natural shades of green have been more popular than ever and are here to stay. But earth tones aren’t the only shades of green that are becoming increasingly popular. Homeowners are becoming bolder with paint, using color washes with deeper, more saturated hues to create moody spaces while retaining a natural feel. But softer, brighter shades of green and green-blue are also making an appearance, such as HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year. In both cases, this color captures the essence of the exterior while creating an equally attractive and refreshing interior backdrop.

mute pink
We’re not talking about bubblegum pink in the nursery or soft baby shades in the nursery, but more mature, muted tones. Farrow & Ball Setting Plaster (No. 231) has long been a designer favorite, and we expect it to become even more popular in 2025. When used as a neutral shade or combined with brown tones, a subtle pink can really look like more than just a warm cream. warm yellow
Golden accents have been decorating interiors for as long as anyone can remember, primarily in the form of textiles and tiles, but now citrus colors are becoming a more prominent paint choice. In 2025, this bright shade will be the paint that brings light and warmth to your home. Its soft tones serve as a backdrop for a myriad of accent colors and furniture styles, but using a more saturated yellow can make a bigger statement, especially with finishing treatments (such as eggshell and gloss). can be emphasized. Sherwin-Williams’ 2025 Color Capsule of the Year includes both the rich golden yellow Bosc Pear (SW-6390) and the brighter, more pleasant yellow-green Chartreuse (SW-0073).
