An international fitness franchise has taken over a Croydon studio.
Australian franchise Body Fit Training (BFT) opened BFT East Croydon on Saturday (October 19).
Chris Pook, owner of BFT East Croydon, said after running his own catering business for more than 10 years, he found himself wanting a “new challenge”.
Chris said: “I love fitness and that led me to BFT.
“My goal in opening the studio is to create a space where community and connection are at the forefront – a place that feels like a second home for all of our members.”
The father-of-four’s vision for Bluefin East Croydon is not just to run a successful business, but to build the foundations of a community that promotes fitness and health.
“The choice to locate our first studio in the Croydon area was not just a business decision, it was a personal one.
“It’s where I was born and I look forward to the positive impact we can have on the community.”
In recent weeks Chris has held several open nights to introduce Croydon to the new studio.
BFT East Croydon is BFT’s third studio in London, with the other two located in Battersea and Hackney.
As part of the global fitness brand’s expansion, BFT is also preparing to open three more studios in London, with deals in Islington, Greenwich and Peckham.
Chris said: “We were very pleased to see such a strong turnout and support at both the launch event and open evening.
“Having the support of people right next to me as I embark on this new chapter is extremely rewarding and exciting.”
BFT founder Cameron Fallon said: “The opening of BFT East Croydon is a proud moment not only for me but for the entire BFT family.
“Each new studio is more than just a fitness space; it’s a community hub where people can come together to achieve their goals and support each other in living healthier lives.”
