A new friendship with Ina Garten.
In an exclusive interview with People while attending the New York premiere of her Netflix documentary Martha on Monday, Oct. 21, the 83-year-old revealed that she doesn’t think she and Garten, 76, are rekindling their friendship. He said no. .
And that’s perfectly fine with her.
“No, she’s crazy about herself, and that’s okay,” the lifestyle expert told People.
Back in the 1990s, the two celebrities met and became close friends in the Hamptons, New York, where they both lived. Garten later wrote a column for Martha Stewart Living and, with Stewart’s help, secured her first book deal.
Stewart’s curt response to his now-defunct friendship with a fellow TV chef came in 2004 during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, when Garten It came after she said he stopped speaking to her “since I went to prison.”

She was released in March 2005 and resumed her television career, going on to branch out into several successful ventures.
The Netflix documentary “Martha” will be released on October 30th.
