Jeremiah Brent is a famous interior designer, television personality, author, podcaster, and currently one of the Fab Five on Netflix’s Queer Eye Season 9.
Brent, 39, joins the feel-good reality show after interior design expert Bobby Berk left the show earlier this year. The newest member of the Fab Five will debut when Season 9 releases in December.
The latest installment takes Brent, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, and Tan France to Las Vegas, where the lives of several people change, including a former showgirl and a librarian.
Ahead of the next 10-episode season of “Queer Eye,” here’s what you need to know about Brent.
Brent briefly became homeless when he moved from Modesto, California to Los Angeles in 2004.
Brent told Kelly Clarkson that he grew up with a single mother who worked three jobs.
“I bounced from couch to couch, sometimes living out of my Jeep for months at a time,” he told Living Spaces. “When I was finally able to move into my first apartment, it happened to be right across the street from Covenant House.”
A few years later, Oprah Winfrey asked Brent if he would redesign the antiquated Covenant House Los Angeles, a shelter that provides protection and support to homeless and trafficked youth in California.
“I know firsthand the value of having your own space and the safety that comes with it,” Brent said. “These children deserve all the beauty that life has to offer, and I am determined to do everything in my power to support them.”
Brent told Drew Barrymore that it was “the most important project I’ve ever worked on.”

The reality show starring celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe aired for five seasons from 2008 to 2013.
“He promoted himself in fashion, but his real passion was interior design. I knew right away that he had a very good eye, and I wanted to give him a chance. “I thought,” Zoe told House Beautiful in March. “To tell you the truth, it was love at first sight, and we really connected.”
After working as Zoe’s Styling Associate, Brent launched his own design company, Jeremiah Brent Design (JBD), in 2011.
He has been married to interior designer Nate Berkus since 2014 and they have two children.
Brent met her current husband, Berkus, through working with Zoe.

The couple told People magazine that they were dating other people through Zoe’s introduction. Two and a half years later, when they were both single, they made plans together in New York. Brent and Berkus went furniture shopping on their first date and married in Manhattan in May 2014.
They have two children, daughter Poppy and son Oscar, who were adopted through a surrogate mother.
Brent tells his ‘Queer Eye’ co-stars there’s ‘no drama’
Brent was already friends with “Queer Eye” fashion expert France before appearing on the show.
A Rolling Stone exposé published in March claimed that France, with Porowski’s support, had waged a “campaign” to replace Burke with Brent. France denied the allegations in an article and an Instagram video, saying: “My ex-coworker’s firing had nothing to do with me trying to get my friend hired.”
Porowski also told Entertainment Tonight that he and Brent have become good friends since they worked together.
“I respect him,” Porowski said. “I met him very casually a few months before this all started, so a bit of a friendship developed there.”
In an interview with House Beautiful in March, Brent spoke positively about his experiences with his Queer Eye co-stars.
“I’m telling you, we don’t have any drama. We’re all in the group chat. We’re having the time of our lives,” he said. “Everyone’s heads and hearts are in the right place. We’re all very healthy right now and I think everyone’s really excited about this season.”
‘Queer Eye’ Season 9 will premiere on Netflix on December 11th.
