Unlike other reality TV contestants, Lisa Vanderpump is one of the few who doesn’t rely on a glam squad. This was a surprise because every time she appears on our television screens, she’s nothing short of amazing, whether it’s on the hit Bravo series Vanderpump Rules or Hulu’s new show Vanderpump Villa. So when she opened up to us about her beauty secrets, we all listened.
Typically, Vanderpump oversees the beautiful floral arrangements, décor, and tablescapes for world-famous restaurants. But this month, she switched gears and stocked up on some of her favorite beauty products in collaboration with IPSY. The reality star spoke exclusively to talk about what it was like working with the company on November’s Icon Box.
“It was so much fun because it was so playful,” Vanderpump said. “It was just a moment of ridiculous luxury. I loved every second of it.”
IPSY’s Icon Box is offered as an add-on to one of the beauty subscriptions you can sign up for online. IPSY has a variety of subscription services, including the classic IPSY Glam Bag, but the Icon Box picks your favorite beauty picks from your favorite celebrities and delivers them once a quarter. Each iteration includes eight full-sized products valued at $350, but only costs $60 (a great deal). Vanderpump is the latest in a long list of celebrity collaborations that include John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, and it’s clear that the businesswoman herself is a fan.
“It’s such a great gift,” Vanderpump told Us. “I thought if someone gave me this IPSY box and it had different tiers of boxes and it arrived at your home like a product, that would be the gift that keeps on giving.” I love it so much is! It was a great business model for me too. That’s really (very) smart. ”

While this box is sure to be an exciting surprise on your doorstep, Vanderpump teased us with a “beautiful mix” of products included in her curation. She made sure to include Amika Hydro Lash Intense Moisture Leave-in Conditioner, a hair product that’s a shopper favorite. “Because they support the Vanderpump Dog Foundation.”
“I’m always so impressed when people run businesses that actually contribute to society,” she said.
Vanderpump also included the Fenty Skin Cherry Dove Triple Action AHA Body Scrub, which she noted is “really good,” as well as items from Kevin Aucoin’s line, which she thinks “is just a genius.” There’s also the Tarte Tartelette Juicy Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette, which the 64-year-old likes because “you can play with it.”
“I really like being creative with small palettes rather than sticking to one eyeshadow,” she said.
Vanderpump lives a busy, on-the-go life, but one thing she doesn’t miss when she leaves the house is a “great statement lipstick.” She believes that “the mouth is really important” and thinks it’s “so nice” to play with all the different colors. (After all, she’s creative!) Along with great lipstick, her favorites are “under eye cover” and “tiny eyebrow pencil.”
As for her beauty philosophy, Vanderpump believes everyone should see makeup as “something to enjoy, not a chore.” She said she’s been dealing with “a lot of negativity in my life lately,” but even a little bit “makes me feel so much better.”
“I think striving to feel your best and embracing who you are as a woman and embracing your charm and the beauty of life is a moment that we all need to capture for ourselves.” Vanderpump said. “I think people need that right now. They need a little gift.”
