Today, Disney+ released the first trailer and key art for its new original series, Interior Chinatown, starring Jimmy O. Yang, Ronnie Chen, and Chloe Bennet. The limited series will be executive produced by Taika Waititi (who also directed the pilot) and Charles Yu (creator and showrunner). All 10 episodes will be released exclusively on Disney+ in Canada on November 19th.
Based on Charles Yu’s award-winning book of the same name, the drama tells the story of Willis Wu, a background character caught up in a police procedural called “Black and White.” Relegated to the background, Willis does on-screen work and waits for his turn, dreaming of a world beyond Chinatown and aspiring to be the star of his own story. When Willis accidentally becomes a witness to a crime, he begins to unravel Chinatown’s web of crime, while also discovering his family’s hidden history and what it’s like to be in the spotlight. .
Starring Jimmy O. Yang, Ronnie Chen, Chloe Bennet, Lisa Gilroy, Sullivan Jones, Archie Kao, and Diana Lin. Series creator Charles Yu will serve as executive producer, while Rideback will be executive produced by Dan Lin and Lindsay Liberatore. Participants include Jeff Skoll, Miura Kite, and Elsie Choi. Garrett Basch of Dive. John Lee. Taika Waititi also directed the pilot. The 10-episode limited series will be produced by 20th Television.
