WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania — The race between three-term Democratic incumbent Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick currently has a disappointing rating. The self-described “underdog” told the Post he was only looking forward to more victories at the polls.
The highly regarded nonpartisan Cook Political Report on Monday updated Monday’s race with a Democratic edge after recent polls showed McCormick tied or leading. However, RealClearPolitics’ average still shows Casey leading by 1.9 points.
McCormick learned the news while touring gas wells in Washington County, southwest of Pittsburgh.
“This race is very competitive and I’m the underdog,” the Republican businessman told the Post.
But he stressed that Pennsylvania wants to turn the page on Casey’s long tenure and “Biden-Harris extremism,” adding that historic inflation under a Democratic White House and Senate, the fentanyl crisis, and “Pennsylvania killings in communities across the country,” and Democrats’ “attacks on America.” fossil fuels. ”
“This is a transformational election, and I’m a transformational candidate,” McCormick said.

These issues could help swing some of Pennsylvania’s 400,000 Jewish voters to President Donald Trump and Mr. McCormick.
Jewish Democrats in Pittsburgh turned Republican for the first time after Mr. Casey refused to withdraw his support for Rep. Summer Lee, who represents the city and is an anti-Israel brigade member who blames Israel for the October 7 massacre. He told the Post he would vote. Hamas has killed and kidnapped more than 1,400 people in the Jewish state.
But to win the race, McCormick said, They seem to be very animated behind President Trump and me. ”

The average FiveThirtyEight poll shows Trump leading Harris by 0.3 points.
But McCormick is desperate for undecided voters.
He said this just before heading to City Hall with Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso to “Build America’s Future.”
“I have a secret. I think I will win,” McCormick told the audience.
