KUALA LUMPUR: Agencies under the Ministry of Communications are encouraged to organize healthy lifestyle activities more frequently, especially to strengthen camaraderie among staff.
The Ministry’s Under-Secretary-General (Communications Infrastructure) Mano Verabasran said such activities involving staff from different departments can foster teamwork among staff.
“In my opinion, programs like this are essential. We have similar activities in our ministry, where the general secretary himself leads all the walks, including the brisk walk.
“It would be beneficial if other agencies did the same and it would encourage relationship building. The most important thing is teamwork,” he said at the Bernama Night Walk 2024 launch held tonight at Wisma Bernama. So he spoke.
Mr Mano, along with Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Nurul Afida Kamaruddin, will be presenting the Bernama Night Walk 2024, which includes a 5km distance starting from Wisma Bernama and passing through Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. We saw off 500 participants.
Mr. Mano said the program not only serves as a platform to strengthen relationships among officials, but also encourages the public to participate in sports in conjunction with National Sports Day.
Meanwhile, Nurul Afida pointed out that this year’s Bernama Night Walk had such an overwhelming participation of Bernama staff that registration closed just three hours after it started.
“We are delighted that Bernama staff took the opportunity to bring their families to this event.This year we had approximately 500 participants and to our surprise, due to the large number of participants, the event was completed in just 3 hours. I had to close the reception.
“Last year we had close to 400 participants, which shows the strong support of our staff for the programs we organize. Our goal is simply to foster friendships and we hope to see a few more at the end of the year. “We are planning an event,” she explained.
He added that this year’s event benefited from the support and cooperation of around 20 strategic partners who contributed to its success.
Partners include Ambank, EXIM Bank, SME Corp. Malaysia, RW Nutrigreen, McDonald’s, Gamuda Land, Vida Zero, AEON, Mydin, Nixorderm Malaysia, Avillion Port Dickson, Nestle, and F&N.
Separately, 300 participants had the chance to win raffle prizes that included a variety of items, including electronics.
