Atlus’ latest JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio is available today for PS4 and PS5. It seems that many people were eagerly awaiting it, as it had already sold 1 million copies on the day of its release.
Atlas today announced an incredible milestone of 1 million sales. This includes worldwide sales of both physical and downloadable versions of Metaphor: ReFantazio. The company issued a short statement thanking them for their support.
“Today, October 11th, the cumulative worldwide sales of ‘Metaphor: ReFantazio’ (packaged version shipped + downloaded version sold) exceeded 1 million units,” the translation of the statement reads.
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us,” the statement continued. We look forward to your continued support of Metaphor: Refantasio and Atlas Co., Ltd.
The statement also mentions the newly released game’s early praise. On Metacritic, the JRPG received ratings between 91 and 93, depending on platform. It also won the Japan Game Awards 2023/2024 Future Category based on public voting.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is currently available on both PS4 and PS5. PS5 players on the fence about committing to the $69.99 price point should check out the free long prologue demo. The Digital Anniversary Edition is available for $99.99 and includes the game, digital artbook, two digital soundtracks, Atlas 35th Anniversary Digital History Book, costume and battle background music set.
