COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Fall season is here, although the weather in the Brazos Valley may not reflect it yet. College Station interior designers say you can achieve a crisp fall vibe even in your own home.
Interior designer Nikki Fort, founder and designer of Adele Interiors, joined BVTM on Monday to share how to bring fall into your home on the cheap.
Fort’s first advice is to evaluate what you already have, as you may be able to incorporate heirloom and seasonal items into your home.
Then you can purchase accessories to add a seasonal pop to your space.
Fort says big-box stores like Target, Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, and Amazon are all great places to find your next statement item. However, take advantage of some locally owned home decor and furniture shops like Dirt Road Rustics in College Station, or incorporate unique finds at thrift and antique shops like Bird’s Nest Gifts and Antiques in Bryan. There is no doubt that you will.
In Fort, we will discuss four areas that can be decorated below.

A coffee table is an easy space to add fall vibes.
Fort, who usually keeps a neutral palette at home, added a wooden pumpkin, candles and a bowl of potpourri mix to the coffee table to add a touch of fall.
“There’s no need to go crazy or overdo it,” she warned.

The sofa also doesn’t need much space.
Ms. Fort brought in the season by adding textured terracotta and brown pillows and an olive green blanket to the couch.
A hack that will also help you save money is to use pillowcases. It can be used regardless of the season.

Similar to the coffee table, Fort also added small touches to the sofa table.
She incorporated wooden pumpkins, candles, and burgundy faux eucalyptus into the vase.
“It’s just a little twist,” Fort offered. “Little things go a long way, really. You don’t want every section of your home to be overwhelmed with fall.”

The dining room is a big work area, Fort said.
Starting in the center of the table, Fort added a pop of color by adding faux magnolia flowers to a vase she already had.
She also added a place setting with brown and white cloth napkins and pine cones on top.
“You can definitely get creative and innovative with your tablescapes,” Fort added.
