Chino Hills State Park offers 14,000 acres of untouched, undeveloped wilderness and an abundance of flora and fauna.
At the park’s entrance from Brea, there is a Discovery Center that helps visitors learn about the wildlife that calls the hills their home and the natural beauty that can be explored.
On Saturday, the center’s 10th anniversary was celebrated with talks and activities. The volunteer-run center is open daily at 8 a.m. and features exhibits and educational activities about the park’s ecology and wildlife. There is also a native flower garden.
Chino Hills State Park has 19 hiking and biking trails spanning approximately 90 miles, picnic areas, and more than 20 campgrounds.
The entrance from the Chino Hills side is 4721 Sapphire Road, and the entrance from the Brea side, where the Discovery Center is located, is 4500 Carbon Canyon Road. The park will be open until 5pm every day through March and until 7pm during the spring and summer months.
